Across Covid America - Tour of National Parks 2020 - Day 17

Day 17
15370 mileage
7:50 A.M.
4299 steps

Today was another travel day for about 5 hours down to Zion National Park. We decided to slip one more excursion in before we left though. Since we couldn't do white water rafting in Grand Canyon unless we wanted to camp overnight (HA!) we thought we'd squeeze in a boat trip today on the Colorado River.

Umm, yeah. See, the thing is that the spring run-off had already gone through which could raise the river pretty high making for some gnarly rapids had already come through.

Today was not so much white water rafting as it was tubing. The river was quiet and gentle except for a few spots where we bounced a bit. We hardly even had to paddle it was so calm. So we just sat in the boat with five screaming children and their two moms as we drifted down river for three hours.

No pictures were taken.

Since we had packed the car back up before tubing, we grabbed some sandwiches from a deli and headed out.

G has been doing all of the driving, so I allowed him to pick the hotel. This is what happened.
